The Beauty Of The Wild, The Himalayas
The Himalayas have been some of the most sacred places in Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism, since they began. Peaking at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft), the highest summit is Everest. The range stretches throughout, India, Burma, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal and China. There are many natives located in different tribes and villages the length of the range, practising different faiths and traditions. A famous Buddhist temple is know as the Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang Monastery), situated on the side of the mountain side or the the Paro Valley in Bhutan. Resources for natural living are not scarce, flowing with some of the worlds biggest rivers, and home grown vegetation, local merchants and farmers are always offering low cost produce which continues to be the main source of income for the native people. One of the prime sights to experience in the Himalayan mountain range, has to be the sunrise. At any high point the sunrise is simply spectacular, peering over the mountains with a golden glow, the towering peeks illuminate as nature comes to life. Two year ago a Tiger population, thought to be extinct in the Bhutan range, were found and recorded, still living high up in the wild, thought he population of them is so few, the prime minister of Bhutan has agreed to do more to protect the species. There are numerous campers that go on expeditions to Everest, you can also join tourists from around the world and take part in an adventure. If you are wanting to camp out, it’s better to not camp alone, but with a group, making it safer for you to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The buildings located in the Himalayas, can be traced back thousands of years, like the Kadarnath Hindu temple, which is located in the Rudra range. The insides of the temple, are decorated with beautiful statues and depicted scenes from ancient mythology. We highly recommend that if travelling alone, and your planning to take a hike, it is better for you to take a guide with you, to familiarise yourself , as the area can be so vast and treacherous.
