If you are planning a trip to Italy then the experience of witnessing the spectacular views Italy has to offer will be one that you will never forget. People just cannot get enough of the country’s historic architecture, culture, heritage, their gorgeous views and incredible sights.
One of these incredible sights in Italy is one of the biggest landmarks that was built around 80 A.D. known as The Coliseum. The Coliseum is one of ancient Rome’s magnificent structures standing over 160 ft in height and which held over 50,000 people where they would flock to entertain themselves by watching the gladiators of the time fight battles against huge beasts. After the fall of the empire, The Coliseum sustained a lot of structural damage but recent restorations have kept it in tact.
Another great sight to see is The Trevi Fountain. Designed back in the 18th century by Nicola Salvi, The Trevi Fountain is dazzling and the sheer size is impressive in itself. Not only will watching the water keep you in awe, but when you lay your eyes on the incredible structures your jaw will drop even more. One such marvelous structure is the memorial to Neptune. Take a coin, turn around, and toss it in the The Trevi Fountain, it is believed that you will one day return to Rome.
Have you always wanted to see the works of Michelangelo and Botticelli? Then The Sistine Chapel in Vatican City is another great place to see. The Vatican City is an independent state located inside Rome with its own laws separate from Rome’s.
